Wearing a trench coat and balaclava from now on, giving him more to do on the show and move him a step closer to Batman.
He's still got to leave Gotham and learn techniques from all over the world for a few years.
That's the lore of the character.
Clone Bruce can fulfil being in Gotham until that is done.
Not necessarily, they're likely to make changes as you can see with the show, things that work perfectly in a short origin story won't work perfectly in a TV series.
shareI'm enjoying the show immensely and looking forward to season 4 but there's a couple of things which are mandatory for a Batman origins story (TV or otherwise) and that's the fear of bats and his time away from Gotham learning to hone his skills.
I'm sure a holistic education for billionaires could be used to have him in and out of Gotham in a jiffy and yet still acquire skills and knowledge from obscure locations across the globe.
Thing is you can't be 100% accurate from one version or era to the other.
It's either like Earth One where he never leaves Gotham and is trained by Alfred or back and forward training aboard, or they could skip time in the final seasons.
I'm not against skipping time in the final seasons. Clone Bruce cold even live out his last few years covering for Bruce now that the Court of Owls is gone by being a drunken spoiled rich kid who gets Bruce the reputation he will need for not being high on the suspect list for being Batman.
All in all I'm happy with the care and humour the show has dealt with through so many incarnations of stories from over the years that I'd like to see it through and forgive it for any oversights I'd have added (Jim Gordon Jnr. being conceived in Lee prior to that train journey for example or how Barbara has her mind wiped so she may rear Barbara Junior soon).
Bruce does need to travel though, the prodigal son returning is important for many reasons I reckon.
Bruce traveling wouldn't work for a TV show for one it's called Gotham, if they have clone Bruce covering for real Bruce for year they could risk alienating their audience.
You can't exactly replicate everything from one form of the media to the other or one version to the other, things that work perfectly in comics won't work perfectly in a TV format.
