the awful twist (spoilers)

Was really liking this movie un till the end twist and Santa was just a crazy guy.
It was such a cool character, loved the staff weapon etc. Kind of like the new Ash.
Then the depressing, oh look its all in his head.
(sigh) film dropped from 8 stars to 2 stars for me.

why is modern horror all about the depressing end, a better end would be Santa fighting the big baddie and it been an awesome Freddie vs. Jason slugfest.

then at the end he rides of to face the other monsters from the film...

Oh well....

While I do agree the twist was a bit out of place, making you drop it from an 8 to a 2? Isn't that a little much?

Tell me, do you bleed? You will.

I liked the twist. It was different and ties in to what Shatner was talking about throughout.

My thoughts exactly. I liked the twist, simply because I did NOT see that coming.

I concur, good twist and an overall very decent movie.

Whaddya hear, Whaddya say?

I didn't really like the twist either, but I wouldn't rate it that low. It's a 7 from me.

Agree the twist ruined the movie for me. The ending reminded me of how a good movie can be ruined by a bad ending.

I liked the twist. Upped it to a 7 from a 6 for me.

Disagree completely with OP. This was the first twist ending in a while I've actually liked, partially because I didn't see it coming at all and partially because I think it worked given the context(s).

Now I almost want a prequel to see how the supermarked-massacre played out in real life.

The twist was fantastic. Made the Santa story the best by far.

The twist was fun! I was wondering what it meant when the radio guy was suddenly talking about police at the mall.

Loved the twist...and the movie.

I also kind of saw it coming because of some of the same subtle hints including when "Santa" was walking around in the building you could see that it was a department store as it got towards the end.
