Fun flick - saved by Apple

Turbo Kid wouldn't have been any good without Apple (Lawrence Leboeuf) she was funny.

Hell, I can get you a toe by 3 o-clock this afternoon... with nail polish.

reply

I liked the bad guys, Turbo Kid and the Cowboy guy was cool.

Apple was great as well.

Thanka for having a spoilers warning you big jerk

reply

Why do people read threads on boards for movies they're yet to see.. especially ones about the movie and whether it's good or not?
Makes no sense.

reply

To find out if the movie is worth watching or not?

CG gore is the worst thing that has ever happened to the horror genre.

reply

Then watch it and find out. You're setting yourself up for failure wading into here looking for a trustworthy review.

reply

There are reviews for that but even in that case, they're all opinions. How do you know whether one will mesh with your own or not?
Either way, I don't believe in spoiler warnings on IMDb message boards. They're for discussion.

We've met before, haven't we?

reply

I was hoping his watch would beep at the end, leading to a sequel.

reply

All they have to do is dig her up and fix her.

reply

Nice spoiler *beep*

reply

I agree with op , she was the best thing in the movie and killing her was totally unnecessary. Now Turbo is all alone once again.

reply

i loved her in this movie, but disagree..
why does her dying destroy anything? she was a robot, things can be rebooted.

also, killing off a lovable character is sort of a "new" thing..

there was a time when they had to censor bellybuttons, (i think that ended in 1969 or so)

they couldnt show "heist movies" where the "bad guys" got away with the loot either.

all due to censorship..

now, having the one you are rooting for die, is sort of rebellious..
and as i already said, she was a robot, and can therefore be rebooted.

all in all, this movie was perfect.

reply

*American censorship. Which also goes into how the military is portrayed on screen.

We've met before, haven't we?

reply

yeah, most american made war flicks are toned down as *beep*..

however, some of them have shown how they flew over vietnamese civilians and just.. mowing them down while laughing..

and im pretty sure that was quite common..

reply

f#cktards, well since I know she dies I don't need to see this

reply

Good idea not watching it now. Since the movie doesn't hinge on Apple living or dying, I can see why you want to completely ignore the rest of the movie. If I were you, I would stop coming to IMDb since any information about a movie keeps you from watching it.

reply

the bad guys die. the bad guy was in fact actually a robot who spits energy out of his mouth. not unlike in megaman where wiley turns into an alien but is actually another robot controlled by the actual wiley.

reply

Thanks for the spoiler (not being sarcastic) I literally go to message boards about movies just to see spoilers about movies I'm thinking about watching to see if the movies contain things that I'd rather not watch like the Hero's chick dying or any rape or a dog dying or slutty leading ladies.

"Look into my eyes and see the weakness in yours"

reply

The hero chick doesn't die. Robots can't die. They just stop working. All they have to do to bring her back is find the parts to fix her. The Kid fixed her by duct taping her head to another body halfway through the movie. All he needs to do is find another body.

reply

*sloooooow claaaap*

reply

and you've been an imdb member since '09 too.

You are... just beautiful. Keep doing you.

Hey I haven't seen the Sixth Sense, tell me a little about it in case I want to see it in the future.

reply

How do people still come to this website and not expect spoilers galore in the message boards?

Why did you click this topic. Expecting a review? Read the spoiler-free reviews on the movie's main page.

reply

Yes, I agree. Laurence Leboeuf was great as Apple! He did switch out her body because the old one was damaged. Perhaps that body had a secondary power source, which would be a way to bring her back for a sequel.

reply

Right? I never go on the boards until I've seen the movie or episode.

reply

Ah whatever. Screw them. They're too dumb to probably enjoy the movie anyway.

That aside, I loved Apple so much. Sure it was sad to see her die but meh, generic B-movie plot.

There definitely won't be a sequel though. It's a great stand alone movie that doesn't need one.

reply

It's almost like there's no feature to cover up spoilers while you're typing them here in the boards. I mean there would be no reason to put such a feature if spoilers were an issue in the boards. Thank goodness people use this feature responsibly...

spoiler alert: you're a dick

reply

Apple was really lovable, she is my favourite part of the film.

Just watched and I have to agree, Apple was the scene stealer. I enjoyed the movie, it was over the top cheese and pulled it off.

reply

HahAHAhA You are correct, Sir. Yes!

reply

Apple is easily the best
