no, the eyes aren't big enough, and the mouths aren't exaggerated. Watch any movie from that studio made by Japanese animators. They look exactly alike; in fact, watch any Japanese Animation going back to G-Force, and it all looks alike.

Of course, it's a French-Belgian-Japanese co-production. You wouldn't really expect it to be an usual Japanese animation.

reply

considering all Japanese animation looks alike, I was afraid that coming from a Japanese studio it would.

I disagree about all Japanese animation looking alike.

going back to the 1980s with G-Force and Starblazers, it all looks alike. I think there's a law in Japan all animation must look the same.

going back to the 1980s you could say the same thing with American Disney animated movies. You could say the same thing with all the CGI Disney movies now.

like I said "I disagree with you"

Akira looks different than Ghost in the Shell.

Tokyo Godfathers looks different than My Neighbors the Yamadas.

I agree, I kept thinking Tin Tin when I watched it. It's a different animation tradition and I prefer the more colourful and expressive Japanese anime. But I did enjoy this film by the end, it just seemed to take a while to get interesting.
