Was anyone else hoping Sondre would die?

What a worthless whiny teenage brat that kid was. He was more of a little girl than his sister.

He was the reason the bus was delayed - there's a good chance if he was on the bus immediately with the others they all could've left. In a scenario where seconds count they lost precious minutes because of him.

He freaked out when his mom killed a guy (really, your *mom* is more of a badass than you are!) and suddenly became afraid of swimming. He nearly killed his father who did everything to rescue him because he couldn't swim underwater for a few frickin meters.

I can't stand people who are this useless.

Ok well it wasn't really his fault he missed the bus. He had headphones on and didn't hear the alarm.

He wasn't afraid to swim because his mom killed the guy. The guy tried to drown him. His head was held under water and he almost drowned. Then when he finally got air, the water continued to rise so he was still in danger of drowning. I'm sure most people would be a little scared to swim after all that. He was also only a teenager, so yeah I would expect
his parent to be braver than him.

He didn't almost kill his dad, he got confused about what direction to go under water. This could be due to vertigo which can happen to even experienced divers (they get confused and don't know which way is up), or plain old panic as he felt the need to breathe. He also saved his dad's life after his mom gave up on cpr.

I appreciated the realistic reactions in the movie. In real life, teenage boys are not superheroes in the face of disaster. They are scared kids that need their parents. Hollywood should take a few cues from the character development in this movie.

same but i was especially bothered by the mother. Yes, the kid should've died. The mother also. The bratty kid delayed the bus and probably got them all killed. Maria, who tried to help her find her son was dismissed as soon as the door opened, with her pushing through the door and not even attempting to help her. Come on, wtf. She was the sole reason your *beep* son and yourself got out of this alive. And that Margot who was at the station wasting precious seconds to press the panic button. Jesus, I could kill them all with my bare hands. But *beep* people always live to tell the story on movies. Damn them all!(Except dad and little girl. Kudos for you two)

They really missed a trick by not having him lose his shirt during all the commotion.

The bus was doomed from the start.

reply

Exactly. The bus was never making it to higher ground. Never.

Agreed the mother could have told the bus to just go if she knew of a f ing bomb shelter anyway!!
