Cancelled

VH1 has pulled the plug on drama series “Hindsight,” which was in the midst of preparing to film its second season. The decision comes amid belt-tightening at Viacom cablers and regime change at VH1, where Chris McCarthy took over the general manager post from Tom Calderone in July.

“Hindsight” had a well-received first season run in January and was renewed in March. The show revolves around a woman who winds up transported back in time 15 years and given the chance to re-do her life. Emily Fox created the series and exec produced with John Norris, Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly.

When I read recently that VH1 was re-reviewing their current lineups I immediately thought of Hindsight. Both surprised and not surprised. It was a good show too...

Is "Twinning" & "Dating Naked" really getting more views than this show did? A LOT of people loved this show, it was probably VH1's highest rated show in a while. Chris McCarthy seems like a *beep* moron.

Wouldn't be surprised if the cost of production for VH1 had a bit to do with it, VH1 could just be being polite about the terminology. Shows like Dating Naked, Twinning and other reality shows are very cheap to produce giving them a competitive advantage over scripted shows with production costs. When it comes to reality shows, folks in our society will fall all over themselves to be involved with some show or another and the opportunity to win a contest or otherwise be noticed (read possibly famous). They'll in essence participate for little cost if not participate for free with promise of some sort of compensation on the back end. Most reality shows use a small crew and handheld cameras like you can buy at your local store. An actual actor/actress on a scripted show expects to get paid as do the larger crews, location folks and the renters of equipment used.

True, but then all things considered, FWIW VH1 should just give up on making original scripted TV series(es) then, or not even have bothered starting. I get that Viacom doesn't really care because they've got other earners, but programs like Hindsight are how you grow a network.

I came on here to check if there was any news about when season 2 would premiere. I can't believe it was cancelled! Big mistake. I hope it gets picked up by another network or netflix.

I know I'm a vampire, Snookie.

I just found this show and love it. Bummed there is no second season. It's currently on shomi in Canada

I haven't been on the board in a few months so I was going to see if new posts and fans have surfaced and I'm greeted with this crap post.

Oh, man. I loved this show. Yes, the concept was not new to the small or big screen but the show held its own. And the music....oh man.

Bullsh*t that's all I have to say.

A lot of people call for Netflix to pick it up...eh, its not a Netflix type show. Although, I would love if they or anyone scoop it up. But, it was perfect for VH1 too bad the new bosses felt otherwise.

I agree that it's not really a Netflix-type show, but I keep picturing it being paired up with TVLand's "Younger" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3288518/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1, which also airs on Nick -- for anyone living in space who doesn't know what show I'm talking about)

I felt they belonged together from the moment I first saw each of them, before VH-1 broke my heart! What do you all think? And does anyone think there's any chance for it??? I couldn't find a "fingers-crossed" emoji, so here's a shooting star to wish on instead! 🌠

PS - I barely *ever* post anything online, but that's how bummed I am about this!!!

Frankly, the only reason why I watched Season 1 (incredibly well crafted by the way), is because of stumbling across the interesting looking promo they did touting the show's second season return date as part of it. grrrr.

Just saw now that it was cancelled. Was looking to see when the second season was going to air after reading back in the Spring that it had been picked up for the 2nd season. I enjoyed it so much I bought the whole season on Amazon. I'm so ticked this was cancelled after they said they were continuing the show. So many "cliffhangers" that the show ended with. Oh well that's the last show I watch on VH1. VH1 is more like BET. Go to their homepage and all they have is trashy "realty" shows

Excuse me, but that's f()?|<!ng b()||$h!+

Well guys, I wrote Netflix to let them know that I think they should pick up the series. While my one little chat session with one of their CSRs probably won't mean anything, if a whole lotta folks write or email or chat to suggest that they should pick up Hindsight, maybe there may be more of an impact! Just a suggestion that I think may be worth a try :)

This reminds me of when My So-Called life was cancelled, maybe someone can actually do something about it this time around.

What a pity, I was looking forward to season 2. I hope it's picked up by another network.
