I noticed in this finale episode that outer parts of Ellie's eyebrows seem to not be there. It's like they have been shaved off. Is that supposed to make her look younger or is that the way she just normally looks? I did not notice this before.

I don't remember ever seeing her with full eyebrows ... in the show. The actress has two, full eyebrows.
I think it is meant to make her look pre-pubescent, more like a child.

shareHaha, I'm not exactly the person to talk about fashion or the newest trends in body modification. Have no idea. I think it was a decision to create a certain desexualized look. That's my guess. Also the choice of Ellie as the actress who has that kind of weird look to her with that enormous forehead - it puts out of mind any kind of romantic or sexual associations.
