Ages are way off in this movie....

So am I the only one who feels weird about the ages of the characters/actors involved here?

In real life "Sophia" is 23. The actor who plays her father is only 36! And he looks much younger. Then you have Lisa Whelchel who is 51 - fifteen years older than the divorce lawyer - and I have to say that while she's and attractive woman - she looks every day of it. I'm not saying an older woman can't or shouldn't have a younger love interest but with Sophia's father being so much younger than her (and looking it) and with so few years between him and his "daughter", the whole age thing just feels really off in this movie.

Amen! Yes, I even went to IMDB to look how old Lisa Whelchel is...

I agree with you ... noticed the age difference immediately. i also checked their ages on imdb.com. I have a daughter who is a year younger than Lisa and looks at least 10 years younger. Lisa needs to do something to her hair, it just hangs there. Cut your hair Lisa!

I'm trying to figure out how old the actor is who plays her father, he looks young enough to be her husband.

Yes, it was a bit too noticeable. I kept wondering why they chose someone so young. They tried too hard to make him seem older, but it didn't fit. I'm sure there are highly attractive, 45+ Italian men who would have made great love interests for Lisa. Also, I have no problem with Lisa looking her age. She shouldn't change a damn thing. I like her just the way she is. People need to quit expecting stars to stay and look young forever. It's unhealthy and unrealistic. Lisa and Kim aged gracefully, and have more class and elegance than the modern generation of female stars who do everything to look much younger, but who look plastic.

Yes the age differences were too distracting! I really like the actor who played the lawyer ...(liked Antonio Cupo in 'Love at the Thanksgiving Parade', 'Bomb Girls')...but he was just NOT right for this role. It's a cute plot/movie...but it would have been SO much better if only they had picked an older actor. An older actor to play the father of a college student... and an older actor to play a more believable love interest of a 50 yr old woman. John Stamos might have played a good 'Marco' the lawyer.

Hallmark makes SO many movies... and often uses the same actors more than once. So I don't understand why they just didn't pick another older actor to play the lawyer...(and save Antonio Cupo for another movie). An older actor from a past hallmark movie like Andrew McCarthy, John Schneider, James Denton, Kevin Sorbo, Chris Potter, Jonathan Silverman, Adrian Paul, Sean Patrick Flanery, Jeffrey Nordling or Ralph Macchio. There's lots of possibilities. Or maybe even an actor like Lisa Whelchel and Kim Fields...an actor who had been on a past tv series when they were younger.

Watching it now, and they look ridiculous as couple. She is 15 yrs older than him, and not to be mean by she looks it.

Couldn't they get a 50 yr old actor to play the role of the lawyer?

Lisa needs to cut her hair, the longer hair is making her look older.

Lisa is still hot but nearly old enough to be the male leads mom!...

Well I have to say that it is nice to see the woman being older. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT? Happens all the time in the real world. It's nice to see this age difference leaning towards the woman this time. I mean in Hollywood you see much older men with young sweet things all the time. It's not easy for a woman over 40 to get a role in Hollywood. Ever seen that video on youtube about the "un *beep* able women in hollywood? Starring Tina Fey,
Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, Patricia Arquette, and Amy Schumer

Yay that's exactly what I was thinking and was hoping someone would agree that in this they suit fine. She looks great for her age and he looks his, not younger. It's definitely a nice change since older man and younger woman is considered normal but not vice versa.
Perfect video too.
