Massive plothole

Why would they put a cow on the road to warn of the mines they place, doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

The characters have no redeeming features, to illustrate that they leave a tied up dog to die without any concern. They have zero compassion.
Tim Robbins and Olga Kurylenko are useless, show no acting chops and are rbf through the whole movie.
Main thing is that the script is absolutely horrendous. It's a meaningless story populated by stonecold/dispassionate characters set in an environment to which the boring melodramatic days-of-our-lives soap show has no association.

All in all a totally unnecessary, not to say pointless, movie.

2/10.

The purpose of the cow was not to warn others about the mines. They were placed in the road in hopes that enemy soldiers would be forced to drive around the cows and drive over the strategically placed mines.

they dont need redeeming features,
the dog was fine without them.
useless? tim did some solid work,
good thats how normal people act
the script is fine stop whining.
meaningless story? not everything has to have a meaning, what? everyday of yours is so meaningful ?
yeah no *beep* these are war aid workers they have seen some *beep*

Yeah, I had the same thinking about the cow. The only thing I could think of is that the cow was a signal warning for their side : Caution, mines are right, go left, for example

The dog was weird because the place seemed deserted for a long time so how would the dog be alive in the first place. I guess they thought someone around was taking care of it. At least they fed him !
