i dont understand why this is the last arkham game

Why have the creators decided that this is the last Arkham game? We’ve only had 4 games yet there are 70 years’ worth of story and inspiration to draw from for many more sequels/games. It’s not like these games have gotten stale or gone downhill. Every game is a critical hit with only a few minor criticisms, not only are they critical hits but financial ones too, breaking many records and winning awards.

It also seems an odd time to cancel a popular batman series when batman is more popular and mainstream than ever. These games came along not long after the popularity of the Nolan trilogy and now we have the recent batman v superman movie and the start of the dc cinematic universe which will feature batman in his own movies, justice league movies, the suicide squad and probably more, there’s also the Gotham series and the constant DC animated movies and TV shows featuring batman an all the collectible merch over the last few years like Funkos, blind bags, action figures, clothes etc.

plus superheroes in general are bigger than they have ever been with the MCU, X-men franchise, the recently mention DC cinematic universe, all the superhero TV shows like Supergirl, Flash, Agents Of Shield, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Agent Carter, Arrow and Gotham Etc.

taking all these factors into account why would Rocksteady stop making these games and the they have only released one game on the ps4 which is a next generations console which surely still has a lot more to offer in terms of where these games could go.

Best way to sum it up is that Rocksteady wanted to focus on OTHER franchises, not just be Batman all the time. Plus, this particular story is over. Joker is dead, Batman's identity was revealed to the world so he sacrifices himself Guess they figured there wasn't much else they could do and wanted to end while they were on top.

But surely this company doesnt just work on one game at a time they wouod have multipke projects and they could always go back and guve us early batman or between orugins and asylum

They COULD go the way of Rockstar and their Grand Theft Auto games.

Would you really want the Arkham series to get the Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed treatment? Because sure enough is Rocksteady kept going that's what would have happened.

I'd much rather have a solid quadrilogy that all hold a place in my heart rather than a laundry list of mediocre flavor of the week games that I get sick of once the next one comes out.

Rocksteady says its the last, but is it really? The way they left the ending so blatantly ambiguous (the full Knightfall ending) feels like sequel bait. Maybe not by Rocksteady but some other developer under WB Games.

It's the last one by Rocksteady at least. However WBM could make another. I mean the ending to Origins pretty much set up the Suicide Squad.

I'd like for WBM to do another prequel game set in between Origins and Asylum. This one would feature Harvey Dent's transformation into Two-Face, Enigma officially becoming Riddler, Black Mask's mask getting stuck to his face as well as more lesser known villains that haven't appeared in these games yet such as Scarface & The Ventriloquist, Maxie Zeus, David Cain, Roxy Rocket and Ratcatcher.

People give WBM a lot of flak for Origins, but they managed to do villains such as Bane and Deathstroke justice compared to how Rocksteady handled them. I mean Slade's appearance in Knight was just insulting. I think they could also knock it out of the park doing Two-Face's origin. Dent badly needs to be done justice. Like with Bane he's been grossly mishandled by Rocksteady(twice) and needs WBM to give him his due like they did with Bane.

Its amazing how people hang around message boards of movies they dont like

This is the same problem with the star wars series, And all the other popular franchises.

It's better to make 3 strong games and stop then keep going and make mediocre games that people keep saying "are not as good".

Origins is a good game but it is not as good as the Rocksteady games.

You have to think of them as issues in a limited comic book run. The story arc was completed, nothing more to really say without lowering the value of what came before. Besides, as good as most of Arkham Knight was, there were definite cracks in it. Best to end on a high note than risk the quality falling.

Who loves ya, baby?

You're asking for them to ultimately sacrifice quality for quantity to fufill fans need to see more games dealing with older source material revamped?

Heck no.

Unless you're a fanboy of COD, just pay attention to their slow demise and tactics along with my (beloved) Assassins Creed franchise which unfortunately has taken a drastic nose dive over the years.

The 1 time that they let another studio take over to supply us with a FIX while they worked on Arkham Knight, look how it got slammed by gamers and critics (Arkham Origins). The game had its moments and looked like it would stand worthy of being like its predecessors, but NO. Overall it was lackluster. If they want to ride off into the sunset following such a successful franchise(i.e Nolan), I don't blame them. I'm actually praying no other studio tries to pick it up and stain its greatness just for a buck off of addicted fans.

Arkham games started small, and along they way they become stupid large open-world bloated game with racing and what not. Maybe if they make another game there will be fishing and dart-throwing minigames involved. Rocksteady just can't manage that. They are not Rockstar.

Arkham Knights PC version is technically terrible, full of bugs and unoptimised beyond repair. They have no choice other than to stop making Arkham games.
