45's

Would you believe that the item held by one of the cast members who tells a woman that he is there to shepherd along is an old 45 rpm adapter used to play 45's on the old stereo sets. Haven't seen one of them in 30 years. Didn't know they still used them

I used to have a cheap, portable turntable that came with a clear adapter with a little raised ridge in the center for playing 45s. It looked like a plastic knob off a stereo. I remember my father having a tall one for his stereo that kind of looked like a miniature gun magazine. It was slightly angled at the top and was meant so that you could add a stack of records to it and have them play in sequence. The spindle itself had a catch for doing this with 33s and that somehow triggered the one on the adapter.
