I'm intrigued by this film and interested to hear more about it, particularly if the consistently great Ellen Page is set to star in it.
One thing, though: the summary really reminds me of the excellent BBC drama 'In The Flesh', which is definitely worth checking out. Probably just a coincidence but their premises do sound similar. Having said that, I think it is a nice take on the usual zombie story for the big screen.

When I saw the summary Ininstantly thought it was a movie version of that series. I wonder if there's any connection?
