Ending? (spoilers)

So did the girl actually go back and get him, and then the guy we see dying is only one of the personalities (probably Zille's personality), as to say, "This part of his personality died here at this spot"

Or did he only imagine she came and got him, and really she didn't, and he just dies there by the door?

I hate to say it but it looks like this is one of those *~You Decide~* endings...
