I've seen a lot of negative things stated about this movie.
I've just seen it and I have to say that this was one of the best movies I've seen in recent times.

In a nutshell:
If you want strong character development, with a dash of action to keep the story ticking, then you'll enjoy this movie. My favourite part was seeing the kid fight. She really was a lethal weapon and whenever she got in trouble, her daddy went mental and got her out of trouble.

If you want to see mindless special FX and action, right throughout, with Wolverine completely unbeatable, then this probably won't be for you.

I gave it 9/10.

I agree with everything you said. Jackman has always been great in this role and the girl was fantastic too. I really got into the story on this one too.
