According to the trivia section, the detector said safe sex wouldn't protect you from "It."

Speaking of which, do you think Jay was using condoms with all those guys she passed it on? She didn't seem to use one in the hospital scene and she obviously didn't have any with her when she decided on impulse to have that foursome with the guys on the boat. It seems weird that she was worried only about IT and not about AIDS.

Even if they had protective or un-protective sex, the curse will still pass on, but it will be worse if it was un-protective sex because then 'it' might of killed a pregnant woman
