About PDC's (Personal Defense Cannons)

They need tech MK upgrades that make them jam less in battle. From the battles faced when using them, they jam frequently in high-G maneuvers and evasive combat (space itself of course has no gravity). From the looks of it, every different manufacturer uses the same 40mm-type base format that can either retract or be permanent platforms on ships. No variation in ammunition (only armor piercing Teflon-coated tungsten) as well be it high-explosive, flak, etc. Flak-type would do well against torpedoes as you won't need direct hits to the missiles themselves to blow them up, just like the Phalanx (CIWS) on the US navy ships.

In S6E3, we can see it can also be used as offensively as well (probably in past episodes too but I can't recall). It's a wonder why they don't use this type of offense more often when ships make escape runs since the computers for these PDC's lead the targets in advance. Maybe they're only configured that way for torpedoes but I sure you can reprogram them on ships closing in on you instead of having to go manual like Bobbi did.
