I agree, it's utterly ridiculous, and it's a mistake that they make over and over again. Jesus was Middle Eastern, which is something many people don't seem to want to accept. An Arabic or Jew from somewhere like Syria should play Jesus. The only time i ever saw a film about Jesus Christ that featured a believable-looking actor, was "The Gospel According to St. Matthew" from Pier Palo Pasolini. an unknown actor named Enrique Irazoqui played Jesus..not the right ethnic background, but with his black hair and dark features, he was quite believable. I also believe that "Gospel" is the best film about the life of Christ; it is beautiful and poetic. A real work of art.

When I saw the trailer on TV, my first reaction was "WOW...Barry Gibb is playing Jesus!"

Well he wasn't black either so you can stop barking up that stereotypical tree.

That 'hair like wool' phrase that people like to pull out & cherry pick & go SEE? He's black cuz....wool.

But I have sheep. They're white. So this hair like wool thing proves NOTHING other than 'soft & thick'! I also have a few black friends & their hair is very fine & silky. I also work with a white guy whose hair is thick & full of dreadlocks. Hows' the stereotype of yours doing? Not so good eh? LOL

By the way, the Bible gives us His color: Rev 4:3: And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

He was more like an olive-tan. Maybe like an Indian like Pocahontas. Not white but not black. This suits what ancient people like Josepheus & the like wrote about Jesus being Caucasian very well. It goes way back to Roman times,
like Josephus depicted Him as Caucasian while even others showed Him as a man with fair skin & others saying that He "blushed" which only one of a lighter color can do. So history as well as most movies depict Him very well.



The bible says that Christianity should be accessible to all cultures, so portraying him with a different skin color makes it a little more relatable.

Though Christ was a Jew....wasn't he 'likely' somewhat with 'white' skin and thus 'similar' in appearance to many Caucasians?

It's kind of a 'strange' coincidence that once the Jews rejected their own Messiah -of their own race- that the 'torch' of the 'chosen' people shifted to the 'gentiles' (Europeans, mostly), isn't it?

Once this happened -coupled with Gentiles 'assimilating' Israelite strains (from Judah [Jews] and other lost tribes) that perhaps the 'Gentiles' of Europe were in a sense starting to appear more and more like Jesus?

A lot of European chivalry and culture seems "Semitic"-derived. Joseph Smith descended 'in part' from the tribe of Ephraim. Much of Old British chivalry and kings and royalty (Lion symbols as well) seems to have a Semitic base.

That being said, TODAY, most Europeans and Americans have rejected Christianity (though they used to be very pious generations ago) and are perhaps showing their 'true colors?'.....and are 'ripening for the destruction.' To be 'PROUD' of being non-pious, atheistic, homosexual, transexual, perverted, Satanic, 'secular,' etc. is so stupid and retarded and bespeaks of such 'inferiority' that it's pathetic. Brits and Americans TODAY are so PROUD that they believe in evolution and are atheists and homosexuals. That is so pathetic that it's incomprehensible. They think that 'religious' people are stupid when in fact -IT'S THE OTHER WAY AROUND.
Makes me wonder what race I descend from since I'm so 'UN'-like most Americans of today and much more SIMILAR to 'REAL' Americans from generations ago.

Do you think it's 'coincidental' that as America has become atheistic and secular that EVERY ASPECT of this country is degenerate, unintelligent, incompetent, and degraded?
