Does anyone want a REMAKE of the HP Series? (Not now, later)

But honestly I think it would be very cool to see it remade at a later stage and more consistent. Don't get me wrong I think the films are all fantastic, but I'm a perfectionist and the changes we see over the films annoys me slightly.

Actors changing (Flitwick, Dumbledore to name a few, though Dumbledore couldn't really be helped), location of Hogwarts changing which was noticeable for me even at a young age, pacing issues, important points from the books missed out, and different directors having different aesthetics and design choices that were different ends of the spectrum. I definitely like David Yates films' the most and Columbus second, but I feel Chris Columbus' style wouldn't have fit the later movies when they got darker and dealt with more mature themes.

Idk, just curious, in like 60/70/80 years time, would anyone be up for a remake with a more consistent feel to them? Sorry if I upset anyone with this, I know remakes can be a taboo for a lot of people.

i wish remake where harry potter will learn actual magic. And in a final battle with Voldemort he will use real magic and not expaliarmus and such easy *beep* magic

I also had a problem with the easy spells working against the great mages... but that was from the books.

Why the fck would they do that?

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

It would be like printing money honestly. If fans eat up cursed child they obviously don't give a *beep* about quality anymore.

I think a Netflix series, ala Game of Thrones, would be a good idea.

That's a really amazing thought; as much as I would hope to be open to it, I don't think I could ever fully appreciate a redo. No matter how great the technology could be, or if the next producers or if it was as faithful like the showrunners did with A song of fire and ice for HBO, I think it just would never feel right. Despite their flaws; I love almost every minute of those films. Being born in 95 the books and the films were such a huge portion of my childhood; and the actors, I don't want to imagine anyone else in those roles.

I don't doubt, they're might be a time that someone would try to redo them; but it's such a tricky line, because of how many things can go so wrong. I don't think Rowling would re authorize the rights to do another adaptation of the books in her lifetime. I would be curious to see how it could turn out, but I just think it would really hard to not be fearful all that could go wrong, that could almost cheapen the originals.

Even though the HP movies are pretty poorly done adaptations of the fantastic books, the millennials have convinced themselves that they are actually good on account of seeing them as kids.
They put the HP movies in the same category as the Star Wars Trilogy or the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (maybe even higher regard). That's laughable and sad but its the truth.

As much as Id love to see a adaptation of the books that isn't mediocre, the outcry from the millennials would be huge. They would see it as rebooting Indiana Jones or The Wizard of Oz.

Have you ever noticed that the people who say "DC is for adults and Marvel is for kids", are kids?

Well, if fans grew up with the characters as the series progressed, the majority would be adolescents when the last one was released. Curiously, DH part 2 is the highest rated movie in the series both on IMDB and RottenTomatoes. You would think PS would be the most popular one if nostalgia from watching the movies as kids is the main reason people love the movies. The general consensus however is that PS is not considered among the best films.

I remember that CoS was my favourite back in 2004. 12 years later I consider it the worst in the series, which goes to show how tastes change as you grow up. Nostalgia, while certainly making it fun to revisit the movie occasionally, doesn't blind me for the weaknesses of the film.

The films are good films, but they aren't necessarily good Harry Potter films IMO. the books have so much more that could be adapted.

Disagree. Some movies can and should be remade if there is a lot missing from them.

A tv series is the way to go, 1 book per year, 12 or more episodes per book. This would allow for added content to flesh out 'lesser' characters. Show me non-Gryffindor characters in their common rooms interacting with housemates and having tangential (sp?) storylines. Show me staff meetings and meal conversations. Show me...well, you get the idea. And do NOT let Rowling adapt it!

It all depends on the director, if Terry Gilliam were to do all of them I would go for it in a heartbeat.
