Someone please convince me to watch this

I'm being honest. I'm having a hard time getting over the fact that I'm supposed to believe that a boy gets superpowers because fragments of a technological device gets imprinted into his head. At least with spider venom there's a suspension of disbelief due to the made-up spider and it's venom having an odd reaction with his DNA.

Am I truly supposed to believe that a manufactured product in which developers wrote code for is the reason why the boy now has abilities similar to his phone? That's like saying I could get the power to emit heat after I protect myself with a toaster after being shot.

Someone please give me a way to see around what seems to be the laziest and most ridiculous idea since tornadoes being composed of only sharks.

Give it a chance, once you watch the movie it's more easy to understand how unrealistic scenarios are a metaphor on our modern worlds ecosystem. It's about balance, sharks are nature incarnate retaliating.

Iboy looks hella dumb though.

Don't do it!

Unless of course, you are 12 years old. If so, you'll love it.

they're not really super powers, he can just hack into phones and other devices with his mind. it amused me when he was googling with his mind how to attack someone just before he attacked them, only happened once though.

it's an okay film, as you say the premise is a bit stupid but Maisie Williams makes it worth watching, as always.

Nobody cares, don't watch it..

I'll give you an honest answer. Most of the rating in the under 45 age group fare better than average marks. Many in the 45+ group thought meh to a little better than average. Interestingly, the top marks came mainly from the 45+ and under 18 viewers - and there weren't that many votes for 10, which shows the film didn't have a lot of fanboys that vote 10 for whatever rubbish they happen to be watching. It nicely offset the very small minority on their quest for the worst movie ever! Since the movie was targeting a younger crowd, if we toss the middle aged 45+ electronics/social media challenged group, the movie scores a solid 7 - which isn't bad for imdb.

Is the movie bad? If you're old and crusty you might think it's pretty average. Younger than that and you will probably enjoy it. Worst movie ever? This isn't it.

it was interesting premise and cinematography was pretty good. but the plot became boring and perfectible and the 3rd act was *beep*

Idiot.

I thought this was enjoyable enough, if not a bit far fetched. I wonder if netflix will make a series.

It's mobile phones and superpowers - how can it be bad since those are two most popular things today? Plus teenagers.
