How good was Niels Arestrup's German

I was also very much impressed by Arestrup's German and would also like to hear the opinion of a native speaker. He seems to have a gift for speaking languages by the way. We already knew he can act in English, French and Danish, it would be great if he could work in German cinema as well.

The more interesting question, which you havent thought about, is how was the french of the actor who played Raoul Nordling. Because if his french was excellent the actor did a terrible job. Raoul Nordling had an scandinavian french accent in his life, so I hope he manage to make it like that, or else this will just be confusing.

I am telling you this because you are concerned by the fact Niels Astrup might not doing a good job because his language/accent isn't good enough. The fact a french actor plays a swedish person is something you should have in mind also.

I thought the lips movement showed that he was dubbed? It looked like it.

I agree that his German seemed good, but was more interested in his French, which was at times not very good, but deliberately so, I thought. It seemed he was trying to speak French with a German accent, which was really a nice touch.
