why was it canceled prematurely?

you can say the ratings suck, but that would be true for 90% of MTV shows

why watch a show on MTV if they kill it without a proper ending, more than 2 seasons is a "long-running" show for MTV, so they should have gave proper ending, even if a shortened last season

Its not like it was expensive to produce...just makes me less likely to watch a MTV show in the future

To be honest, I think the only reason they picked up Faking It in the first place was because they needed something to air during the half hour immediately following Awkward. So once Awkward ended, they didn't have any need for Faking It any more.

Bad pacing and a lack of focus. Strange as it sounds the characters spent too much time being fake. If the executive producer wanted Karma and Amy to attempt actually dating then realize they weren't in love romantically he should have done that. Instead the supposed main story barely progressed and the fanbase largely stopped caring.

The ratings fell because the creator and writers were toying with the storyline so damn much - fans left in droves.

Faking It is not coming back. I wish. But beeping MTV isn't going to bring it back. Nor is anyone else going to pick it up. The best we can hope for is a spinoff.
