Jason Statham

I thought he was great! My favourite character by far and although I fast fast forwarded a few bits of the movie I would happily re-watch his scenes

He made the movie.

I loved the line "I make a habit of doing things that people say I can't do... like walk through fire, water ski blind-folded, take up piano at a late age."

reply

Oh yeah, he was the best (although Jude Law was pretty good too). I laughed at his monologue about what all the crazy things he's done, like re-attaching his arm with his other arm, etc. The last bit where he says he was flying his car through the air while on fire (not the car but he was on fire, lol) just sounded like a sendup of all his Transporter films.

I was really surprised how little he was in this movie though. From the trailers and posters at the time, it gave the impression that he would be a co-lead with McCarthy not a supporting character verging on a cameo. Which sucks cause I could've done with more Statham.

My favorite line was something like , "if I wanted, you would be lying on the floor, breathless, wondering what came over you." Something about the way he said that line made me laugh. And the "Times INFINITY" line.

The statement below is false.
The statement above is true.

He was great! I'm glad we got to see him in small doses though. Having me on-screen for a very long time would've diminished his character's humor.

reply

He was absolutely funny in this film! the best part was his character was supposed to be like his other tough guy characters & he takes himself seriously but obviously a bit clueless & hopeless which added to the humour.
He should do more comedy films. I loved him in this movie.

Let's go get a drink & smoke a cigarette

He means well.

The idiot formerly known as Heez.

I just seen this for the first time last night and YES he was hilarious! I was in stitches when his coat snagged on that door handle, and don't even get me started on all of his hilarious dialogue because that would make this post extremely long lol. Jason rocks as a tough guy, funny guy or tough and funny guy.

If we wanna hear you talk, I will shove my arm up your ass and work your mouth like a puppet!

Absolutely! He was the only funny part of this steaming pile of crap. It was a delightful surprise to see him as a recurrent secondary character capitalizing on his over the top Crank persona!
Now I see Statham as a great comedy actor. I wonder if he could do more than exploit the Crank vein.

Is this bothering you?

reply

Absolutely! He was the only funny part of this steaming pile of crap. It was a delightful surprise to see him...

So it was a delightful steaming pile of crap? Hmmmmmm...

reply

Nobody hare has watched his earlier work?
His best films are comedies for crying out loud, it's not that surprising.

reply

I usually don't like his roles much but he was awesome in this!

reply

In Lock stock and Snatch he plays similar roles to this one.
That's what I mean.

reply

Totally agree. Statham made this movie. Never laughed that much as at his scenes. Great writing for this character and spot on casting.
