Seeing the four movies...

... reminded me of just how bad the books were to begin with. I have real all of the books in the Dollanganger series and saw the '87 movie as well as the Lifetime series.

The books had a "soap opera" feel to them; trashy really.

It made the movies rather laughable - you really had to suspend disbelief.
