I don't see the problem with this concept


I hate mere tokenism in general, whoever is the target audience, if it's a historical movie where a certain demographic as the lead has been unrealistically changed and made to look stupid. ie Medieval England or Victorian China, for example.
Unless it's an ancient one like Roman history, where races were diverse (more or less mixed socially), unlike the USA until very recently?

But if it's present day or futuristic, what's the big deal? Take this movie- the original is incredible- but equally any of Jacob's (Tim Robbins) black Vietnam comrades-in-arms could have starred about the drug program?
