The Dress

The dress was so beautiful. I wasn't convinced that the daughter-in-law wouldn't have seen it that way too, unless she was jealous? I thought that she and her mother were a bit overplayed. I read the book long ago and don't remember them. But anyway, I loved this wonderful production; it took me through some dark days. And, I gotta say, these comments are some of the most thoughtful and sensitive I have seen on imdb.

I agree, I think she was just being deliberately spiteful about Olive. The dress wasn't something I would wear personally but it's also not so hideous that I would make fun of it!

It was your typical old lady dress? Maybe that was insensitive women who think they know everything bonding by putting others down.
