Who breaks in to a house and beats a dude up just because he wouldn't sell his car? And wouldn't such a petty crime be beneath a mob boss' son?

Ioseph, was spoiled which was the point. He took what he wanted, whenever he wanted. His immaturity was noted several times in the movie, during the club when his champagne is taken away. When he first talks with him father, his father tells him about the skills that John possesses and what ioseph lacks. Ioseph, was a bully with power.
