Defenetly yes.For our generetion is one of the best, although the movie doesn't have all the shakepearian dialogues. It's a shame that didn't get any award, all the cast was amazing.

I found it boring, dreary and lead footed. I much prefer the one with Patrick Stewart from 2010.

For me the only problem with this movie was the language.I didn't know anything about shakepearean language,so i was shocked when i saw the movie in cinema. After that i read the play to understad better the plot although english is not my first language.Patrick Stewart's Macbeth is one of the best.I didn't like very much the actress who played Lady macbeth in 2010 version.

Absolutely.

It's good, but 1996 Hamlet blows all competition away, although I need to see Henry V.

Frankly I'm embarrassed for you that you would even suggest this.

No offense, but perhaps you should have seen some others first?

Julius Caesar (1953) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0045943/reference

Throne of Blood (1957) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050613/reference

Hamlet (1964) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058126/reference

It's not even the best adaptation of Macbeth (see Kurosawa's Throne of Blood) so I'd have to disagree. The film is a visual marvel but it seems to be lacking something. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just wasn't altogether satisfying for me.
