Why did Jake drag Sadie to the TSBD at all? History does not record she was there, or had any role in the events. What did Jake want Sadie to do there? It was indeed a danger to her life, so if he loved her, he should not have brought her there.

Also, the bum keeps saying nothing will ever change, so Jake trying to change anything would not work, and JFK will always die, and so he cannot save Sadie too.
Well, about JFK he was right, he did die at the end after the reset, however, Sadie did live... so there, proven wrong!

I think it was cause every time he left Sadie alone time kept trying to murder her.

"I said no camels, that's five camels, can't you count?"

You could ask that at a deeper level - why "waste" time having a romance with her at all - just focus on the task of saving JFK and don't get distracted.

However, it is fiction, not a documentary. She had to be there so she could die, make Jake and us sad, and make us later realise how important she was also (to the lives she touched as a librarian)

Sadie is not destined to die. She dies because she comes with Jake to the TSBD and gets shot by Lee. If the whole Kennedy mission doesn't happen, she won't die. That's why she lives at the end when Jake doesn't attempt to save Kennedy.

Hate to say this, but the book makes way more sense. In the book, Jake is badly injured after being beaten. He can't even walk properly. Without Sadie, he wouldn't make it to the building. I agree it's pretty stupid that in the series, Jake drags Sadie along for no reason. In the series, he has recovered fully, unlike in the book.

YCM said she always dies, so even if she doesn't tag along with Jake to the TSBD she still at some point will die. Even if Jake comes to 1960 and doesn't even concern himself with Kennedy at some point in time she will always die.

This is a piece of fiction based around an event in history. Of course she wasn't there, just like Jake wasn't supposed to be there....

And I meant to add more:

She refused to be left out. If you were paying attention, you would have seen that Jake tried to leave her out of it and she refused, and wanted to go with him.
