Boring, overlong, but great story.

I loved the story that this movie tried to tell. I thought the premise was great.
The acting was all top notch. Where the movie failed for me was the runtime and the execution of the story. It was mostly very boring and nothing really happend. I know its a adaptation from a book, but surely there would be ways to make it all more exciting?

Jlaws character is also immensely smart, something that isn't hinted at or suggested. Which makes her actions seem a bit unrealistic and out of nowhere. People keep telling her she is amazing, smart and different. But we never really SEE that. Sure, we see her find people's motivations and being able to look into their heads. But how did she train this? It does not explain why she is so smart in other stuff as well.

It is such a bummer because the actual story and what it is about is engaging and good. If they would have cut off about 30 mins of this movie, it would have been great!
