Just watched it; I liked it.

I had low expectations, but I thought it was pretty good! It was a little light on the jokes, but overall I liked it.

Glad to know that you liked it! I commend you on your good taste.

What specifically did you enjoy about the film? What were your favorite scenes? Dialogue?

Sorry for the delay.

I liked the film because:

I like period films,
I liked the setting in the French Riviera,
I liked the clothes, the cars.

I liked all the actors, they seemed to fit their roles for the most part, except for Emma Stone. She seemed a bit to "modern" for those days, ie the way she spoke, acted, etc. Not that I was back there, of course...lol.

I like Colin Firth's character because I can related to him, being a "dis-bunker of fraud and psychics" as I also hate those kinds of things.

I liked the overall script, almost as if P.G. Wodehouse himself wrote it. Interesting, especially the "twist" at the end. It even had ME going for awhile, as in when Sophie 'saw" into Stanley's Aunt's past...

It was a good, romantic and interesting film. Much better than "Irrational Man". Great escapism film.

Can't say I had any "favorite scenes", I rarely take films apart like that, and only just enjoy them or dislike them.

Dialogue seemed a little canned to me, not too natural, kind of like watching a play, but most of the actors in a Woody Allen film deliver it like that, except for Allen himself, ironically. In his films the actors usually deliver their lines too fast. In real life, when people ask you something, there is usually a pause to process the info, think about what you want to say, etc. In his films, it's 1-2-3 back and forth, not thought into it. Pretty noticeable to be, reveals the rehearsed and memorized lines, which require no thought.
