The movie relied on him for a lot of the key moments, such as his reactions to the black friend’s death, going to the church, his sister’s possession.

But he wasn’t a good actor. He didn’t have the right facial expressions, didn’t convey the sense of fear or stress, didn’t have the result the right tone of voice.
