How come they can't hold onto their actors?

The cast seems to be changing with every film.

Didn't you like the black line?

Having read a number of posts here, I think I understand why the main parts were recast. I have to admit, a number of them fooled me since a lot of the performers bore similarity in appearance to their companions.

It is asking a lot to have actors commit to three movies on the same subject for a period of two or three years. One rumor has it that Sean Connery later regretted not taking the part of Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings Series because he did not want to be committed to spending three years in New Zealand working on three movies back to back about the same subject regardless of the amount of pay he was offered. He also said he had not read the books and did not understand the part. I think his fans would have loved him in the part but he moved on and is now enjoying a well earned retirement. Of course, I have read in many posts that Mr. Connery never had discussions about the project.

I see a lot of people wanted to do this part and were turned down for it and also an number of others declined to do it. It probably has set a record for how many people's names were attached to it one way or another.
