One of the best Disney remake!...Shame barely no one saw it

Honestly, I put it right after the Jungle Book as the best remake Disney has made so far. It was different enough not to suffer with comparisons unlike The Lion King and it preserved the heart/essence of the original unlike Mulan. It made me sad that it did not find an audience, it was a gem. It probably was because Pete's Dragon never was the most popular Disney property to begin with but still I hate to see a good film fail at the box office when so much rubbish takes the top spot.

Well...............I saw it and I own it as well. I just got done watching it last night. Thats actually why I am here looking to see what people are saying. I totally agree that this was second only to jungle book. I was blown away at how great it turned out. That is why I was thrilled when I heard of Disney doing the Pete's Dragon remake. i was thrilled. To me, it didn't disappoint. It is beyond amazing what they can do with CGI today to make it look real.
The emotional elements were great. Of course its a fantasy and its Magic in its ideas, but we accept that as a part of the story that is brought to life. I loved the casting of Pete. I found him perfect for the part and he draws our emotional heartstrings which is what is intended.
it really IS too bad that family film has taken such a Back seat. In MY world, movies like this should become cult classics for future generations.
