Question about French view of teen sex

So, I've now seen two movies where teens are having sex in the family home, and in the nearby room the family is hanging out, eating brunch or whatever. The family knows the teens are having sex just in the other room and are not bothered. The teens know (and don't care) that the family is aware of what's going on right at the moment.

Is this how it really is in France? I'm sure that, out of the hundreds of millions of households in America, there are a few like this, but it isn't usual. Even in families where everyone is fine that the teens are having sex, the parents would be uncomfortable to know that their kid was having sex at that moment in the next room, and the kid would probably be very embarrassed.

It was Sexual Chronicles of a French Family. The scene was similar, except the family and the love interest hung out in the kitchen first, and then the boyfriend/girlfriend excused themselves to the bedroom.

Excusez me, but this is typicale for us in 'La Douce France'. It is all over la place. All of my famille is like that. We encourage our children to enjoie life, and to have sexe whenever they can. It is what makes them happy, n'est-ce pas? And of course, at the breakfast table, there will be some 'arôme d'amour'! But is it not to celebrate their love? A propos, the arôme mixes well with the scrambled eggs. I feel like the American people have lost their relation to Nature Humaine. Sexe is good, not wrong. Make l'amour, not war!

My dad is belgian and his sister has been living in France for a long time and has had 2 children in France. I'm brazilian but my whole family on my dad's part is either living in Belgium or France and their attitute when it comes to sex is usually very open even if compared to us brazilians. I've been there and seen it with my own eyes and heard it as well.
