The Crazy Ones Cancelled

I can't believe that The Crazy Ones has been cancelled. Robin Williams, Sarah Michelle Gellar and the rest of the cast had great chemistry and were always cracking me up. I am really stumped at how this show is now cancelled. It was the number one rated sitcom with over 15 million viewers! I have a couple theories as to what went wrong: first, the scheduling was hectic. There were a lot of hiatuses and no date as to when new episodes would return so many viewers either gave up or just stuck to DVR'ing it in hopes of new episodes. Second, I find it ironic that Mom was renewed over The Crazy Ones. I admit I watched both but somewhere along the line I gave up on Mom (it was hard because I like Ana Farris) because it really tried too hard to be funny and usually missed the mark whereas The Crazy Ones made me laugh effortlessly. So, back to my point, why was Mom--a show that really didn't do much better than The Crazy Ones--renewed and not The Crazy Ones? I feel it's a bit of favortism on CBS' part. Come on, we all know they're in debt to Chuck Lorre for the shows he's given them so naturally they're going to choose his side over anyone else. Third, I think the Thursday timeslot kind of hurt too...especially going up against Scandal in some markets. That's not fair. And, finally, I feel the marketing of the show steadily declined. At first CBS was marketing the show remarkably but then they stopped. It was rare to see an advertisement yet I'd always see ones for Mom and The Millers (both ironically renewed). I'm very saddened to see this hilarious show with one of the most phenomenal casts on TV today bite the dust, it had SO much potential. Those are my thoughts and opinions. What do you think? Agree or disagree?

Well I haven't seen anyu official cancellation announcements made, I've looked but it's only suggested that it might happen. If it does, then it's problems are 2 fold. First is simply that between the season premiere and the finale, it lost 10 million viewers. That's a heavy loss for a major primetime sitcom, especially one that stars one of the most beloved comic actors around. It's other major problem would be that it's got to pay SMG and Robin Williams, who I'm willing to bet are getting huge salaries for their roles since the show is being sold on their names, and they are the two leads.

It's sad because it's a great sitcom and based on it's talented writing and incredible cast it should be on air a lot longer... but sadly Numbers, both ratings and money, are going to be it's downfall.

It had the potential, but it failed in execution. I wanted to like it, but I couldn't.

Without Robin Williams, the show could not continue as it was HIS show. God bless him.

He was a most wonderful human being. He gave us all so much laughter & joy for so many years. Thank you Robin for your comedian nature. You will always be in our hearts forevermore.
