Rooting for Pablo

I have more respect for honest bad guys than I do for fake good guys like the DEA and the Columbian government. Every time that child killer colonel or the DEA are on the screen I boo the living *beep* out them. Fake good guys that are walking hypocrites by smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol. At least Pablo cared about the people of Columbia and helped the poor. Never saw the DEA or the Columbian government do either. Thank god thought that Columbia came to it's senses this year and told the DEA to GTFO and legalized the coca leaf. We need to do the same to the DEA in the US as well.

reply

I agree to a point. Pablo was two people to me. Good and bad. You were cheering him for helping the poor and being an extremely loving father to his family. He obviously loved his wife (yes he did cheat with countless women). Then there was the monster he would become. The terror he inflicted on innocent victims. But you are right, who are bigger criminals than the US government.

reply

I think everybody has a monster in them to some degree. It's just how it's handled that makes a person who they are. With Pablo, at least he was honest about being ruthless, and at least he gave his workers second chances when any other drug lord would kill a worker for a simple mistake (in reference to his workers working for that one lady after Pablo was locked up). And whose fault is it really in the grand scheme of things? Pablo was just like any other businessman. He supplied people with what they wanted, which was cocaine. I don't get why we can let people poison themselves with alcohol (which is just as dangerous as any other street drug), yet we play the "moral police" when it comes to any other drug.

And I'm not a cocaine user by any means btw, but I think if people want to use than they should be able to. Drugs like coke, meth, etc, should be treated more like a health problem rather than a criminal one. We let rapists and murders roam free after six months yet we keep pot smokers and other drug users in jail for years to life. We need to get our heads straightened if we ever think we're going to stand a chance when it comes to confronting drug usage in the US and abroad.

reply

What state gives convicted murderers 6 months? Don’t go making up facts just to prove whatever point it is you’re trying to make.

reply

You must be the most stupid person to ever post on IMBD. What an immoral POS you must be to root for a ruthless murderer!

I bet you were rooting for Osama Bin Laden too after 911!

reply

Oh here comes the self righteous goodie two shoes. You are the epitome of what I hate when people profess they have "morals". So are you against the CIA for supplying the world with drugs? Are you against the CIA for smuggling Heroin into the united states via soldier caskets? Please stop with the fake goodie two shoes act. That's why I have more respect for people like pablo than people like you.

Oh and btw you are an idiot if you think Osama was the one behind 911...

reply

Great that you base your opinion of someone from aTV show. The actor did a great job and I can understand how you would have empathy for the character but c'mon the reality was he was a ruthless murderer who ruined 1000's of lives.

reply

The CIA smuggling heroin via soldier caskets? that was Frank Lucas you colossal retard.
Yes some governments are evil, but Pablo was worse. Your morals are retarded, you praise one guy for killing innocent people then "boo" the police that killed Pablo's soldiers? 

Damn, you are one messed up POS. I feel sorry for anyone that knows you. Your parents really did a number on you. 

reply

Hey Psychopath
Tell that to the thousands of innocent lives this disgusting worm killed

Rethink your stupid comments , dummy

I was very happy seeing all his associates and friends being killed off like the cockroaches they were
I was most happy seeing Pablo being killed

reply

Zero good in Pablo and the DEA is as brave as anybody

With morons like you going through the educational system you know why America is dead broke with mobs , riots and corruption and rats the poster

reply

Oh god another fake goodie two shoes? Are you against the CIA, since they smuggle drugs into the US? Are you against the DEA for locking up people over a MJ plant? Please stop with the fake goodie two shoes act. At least an honest bad guy like pablo isn't some two faced fake person like you are.

reply

You call the colonel a child killer....yet say that you respect Escobar?

Escobar murdered over 3000 people including many many children.

reply

The DEA and the fake good guys drew first blood, not Pablo. Blame the CIA since they're the ones that manufactured the drugs and sent them out worldwide. As far as I'm concurred, Pablo was fighting back, and has a right to defend himself.

reply

USA government is the pure evil thing. They killed millions of people around the globe for the sake of "made homeland secured" or "their delusional greatness" and yet never judged. Admit it brother, this world is unfair.

reply

He killed children along with innocent people, you flipping imbecile. You booed the screen? shows your level of intellect right there.

reply

So does the DEA. Please try again with your fake goodie two shoes attitude. Oh and your avatar makes you a further hypocrite btw. At least I can make coherent counter arguments rather than resulting to insults.

reply

[deleted]

If you're against drugs than get rid of the heisenberg Avatar. Obvious, millennial hipster goodie two shoes is obvious...

reply

Of course I'm not against drugs. They should be legalized. The war on drugs has killed a lot more people than actual drugs. Alcohol kills more people than banned drugs. I was against Pablo killing innocent people.

reply

Ok that's all you had to say then. So we're basically on the same agreements with the exception as to how we perceive Pablo.

reply

Hope you're joking. Sure the DEA and Search Bloc were dirty in their ways too, but nothing compared to Pablo. This man blew up planes, buildings, shootouts in the streets and didn't give a *beep* about the innocent people getting killed. I can't root for someone like that. The man was incredibly smart but at the same time stupid not to put his talent to good use instead of becoming a drug lord.

Is the man interesting? Definitely, specially when portrayed by Wagner Moura. Does he deserve respect in my eyes, not really.

reply

The thing is that Pablo isn't held to the same standards as the DEA. We know Pablo is a bad guy. The DEA on the other hand, are fake. I hate fake people more than anything, so that is why I have more respect for Pablo than the DEA. At least Pablo is honest with what he is.

reply

Damn you are so stupid. Were you dropped on your head as a baby?

reply

Just for the record, Colombia hasn't legalized the coca leaf.

reply

They kicked the DEA out though, which is fair enough.

reply

I think part of the problem here is that they are not showing Pablo's true personality.
They show you how he feels about kids and his wife and mommy but leave out most of the violence and the fact he was a pedophile.

He didn't cheat on his wife with other women, but with children.
Also, he was very sadistic with his torture of people he wanted to control.
He would tie up his victims and bring in their wives, mothers, and daughters; and make them watch while he violated and tortured their loved ones.
Gauging out their eyes and cutting off their breasts; he was a sick sick individual that doesn't deserve your respect.
The pool cue scene in the prison was the closest they've come to showing who he really was; except he probably would have raped them with the cue afterwards.

And NO, the DEA or CIA isn't a whole lot better; human garbage is human garbage, no matter what their job or motive is; but I doubt there's gangs of CIA spooks running around raping children.
But who knows.
They are trying to make him somewhat likeable in this series because it's good tv to have people struggle over who's "really" the monster here.

As long as he was honest about it I guess the OP is okay with it. Admires it even, it seems. 
