Viola Davis Voting Fraud is wrong Academy

If the Academy votes for Viola Davis for best supporting actress then it is form of CATEGORY FRAUD. It also shows how little faith the studio has in Viola Davis. She is a powerhouse actress and did an excellent job in Fences. BUT is the studio saying Davis is not good enough to be a best actress nominee? Or the studio does not think Viola can win best actress? It shows how little faith the studio has in Davis. Yes, people will say Alicia Vikander won last year for the Danish Girl. But it is WRONG to do this. If any Academy member reads IMDB please VOTE put Viola Davis in the BEST ACTRESS category NOT the supporting actress category. Davis is the female lead has so much screentime. I feel this is so UNFAIR to the rest of the women in the supporting category. Why sould someone who is so famous take a spot from another deserving actress? It makes no sense and it is wrong. Yeah, Viola Davis wants an Oscar well boo hoo to her LOL! Lots of actresses want an Oscar but don't get it. Helen Hunt tried this go to the supporting category despite being the female lead in the movie The Sessions but LOST. I sincerely hope the Academy makes the RIGHT DECISION and vote for Viola Davis put her in the best actress category. It is about the integrity of the Academy is at stake. Studios should not be allowed to play voter fraud just because they think another category they can win in. It isn't right. I know I am just one person but I know other people agree with me.

I agree with you. The same thing with The Martian last year. Why be so desperate to win? Matt Damon and the director I believe had a confused reaction at being placed in the comedy category. Was it to save face? Because I doubt they were genuinely confused and in the dark about it.

I don't entirely disagree with you. You know the real shame of this though is that for the supporting actor category they usually do put supporting actors in there most of the time. But for women they do this a lot more because there are hardly any movies that have strong female characters much less movies that have two.

Trying to create a channel based on interpreting, reviewing, and even giving you something to laugh about film. Hope you enjoy what you see. Thanks in advance.

I feel sorry mostly for some unknown actress we have never heard of who could get a HUGE career boost being nominated in the best supporting actress category. BUT because Viola Davis and her studio believe they need to steal a spot from another actress. Viola Davis studio obviously has little faith in her. I have read the reviews Davis is getting outstanding reviews for her performance in Fences. Is Viola Davis studio saying she is not good enough an actress as Natalie Portman or Isabelle Huppert? Davis should be nominated for BEST ACTRESS because she was the female lead and had so much screentime. By taking the supporting actress category Viola studio is CHEATING taking a spot from another woman who deserves it. For some unknown actress just being nominated could be a huge boost command more media attention and more roles. Davis should be disappointed in herself.

Oh quit whining about it. Just say that you don't won't her to win and be done with it. She's not taking anyone's damn spot but her own, and she was great in FENCES, like she is in everything I've seen her in.Funny how I don't see you whining this hard and long about why a white actress shouldn't be nominated for this and that.

activista you are right I do not WANT Viola Davis to win BECAUSE she is committing voter fraud. She is cheating taking a spot from another deserving actress who had a strong supporting role in a film.

Actually you are wrong. Viola Davis watched the movie and thought she should be put in the best supporting actress category instead of the best actress one. The studio was willing to campaign for her in both cases.

On the one hand, yes I agree that she would better fit the Best Actress category and should be placed as such. On the other hand, acting like the Academy has much integrity to lose is kind of silly at this point. You yourself mentioned Vikander just last year (phenomenal performance, but not a supporting one). While I enjoy the show and most of the movies they highlight, they've kind of been a joke critically speaking for awhile now.
