Just finished it

Way too many flashbacks to begin with. Makes a rather simple story confusing. Then there are way too many red herrings. A lot of padding to get this story to eight episodes. A two hour movie could have told it much more succinctly.

The series drags as if they didn't know what to do and then the ending brings it all crashing down. Also why wasn't the idiot husband Alan charged?? Also the Amma character looked very healthy for someone who was chronically poisoned. Can you build up immunity to poison?

It was a bit lame despite some good performances. 7/10

This is the HBO shtick. Drag shit out 10x longer than it need be. Their productions are really cliche.

It was a slow all-invading burner for an underwhelming finale. However, I gleaned a lot of enlightening tidbits after reading a FAQ article that compares the show and the original book and helps shed more light on what happened, here's the link for whomever is interested : https://mashable.com/article/sharp-objects-ending-explained-book-questions-answers. Also, there's an after-credits scene in the final episode that alleviated some of the bitterness I got from the finale.

To hownos - I was about to say the exact same thing. The flashbacks were really annoying after awhile. Not to mention, unnecessary. I think 4 parts would have done it - 8 parts certainly was overboard. Ok, although I too finished it, I didn't watch all 8 parts. I watched the first 3, sifted through part 4 and then went to part 8 just to find out who did it. It may sound unbelievable but it's true - I suspected Amma all along. As for the Mother, as also ended up being true, I thought she was just a whack job. The one I question is Adora's husband Alan. I tend to think he, at the very least, had an idea of what was going on. This was due to him lying when the cop shows up at his door "Camille is out with friends". Or, it could have been he thought she was sick and wanted her undisturbed. That one is a toss-up. Anyway, this would have been fine, I'm with the OP, the flashbacks mess it up, and it's way too long. Cut down the FB's , concise it to around 4 parts, and I think this would have been terrific. Actually it was good in my mind cuz I only watched 4 parts of it, hahahahaha. And lastly, kudos to the Led Zeppelin fan that made Zep music a major part of the soundtrack. This was terrific at the ending when Camille looks at Amma. Amma says "Don't tell Mom" and then .......IN the Evening........When the day is done! That got me so amped up I got out of bed to write this, hahahahahaa
