Why the racist line?

At one point while in the tunnel, the woman that had been seen previously public drinking remarked (at about the 1:19:30 mark) that it was "It's dark as a ni@@er's a$$hole" WTF!? Why is that even in the movie? Do the writers dislike black people that much they need to throw a line in a film that has nothing to do with the film at all? Is that the typical Russian attitude toward black people? And before you "vice versa police" come in and blab about the situation being reversed with a bunch of black people saying something racist about white people, with none around and it having nothing at all to do with them; I would say the same thing.

Massive failed attempt at humor I fear?

It was then it's probably because it's not really an insult in Russia. Or at least not as much as it is in the U.S.. If I would translate it into English I probably wouldn't put it 1:1 with the N-word. I would make it like 'It's as dark as Denzel Washington's ass' or something like that. Russian and English are just different languages and some things come across different in each language.

Because Russians aren't a bunch of PC pussies that get " offended" at every possible utterance.
