Why do I Continue to Watch This Show?

I like Seth Green, Martin Mull, Giovanni Ribisi, as actors,, the other cast members are new to me, now while I think SG,,MM,,GR are decent actors, I realize that they are really support character actors, none of them are people who are star actors who can carry a show, so this is basically a mish mash of support character actors and actresses trying to carry a show about late 30's-early 40's computer/video game makers who are best friends and have fathers who come and live with them and makes their lives (complicated).

The writing is terrible,,the laugh track is terrible,, the acting for the most part is terrible,,, and yet I continue watching it,, and find myself mildly amused by it.

When It comes to comedy I enjoy all kinds of humor High Brow,,low brow,,buddy,,romantic,,slap stick,,cringe worthy,,gross out,,racial,,so when I watch this show it doesn't really have any redeeming qualities, and yet I find myself continuing to watch,,and mildly enjoy watching the show.

Anyone else find themselves realizing that what they are watching is pure crap yet still find themselves watching each episode? and enjoying it?

Haven't read the replies... don't care. this show is crap.

I have this problem where I can't stop watching a show once I've started. I stuck with Nip/Tuck through the end. I have stuck with every sitcom (Perfect Couples, Happy Endings, My Boys) through their entirety, and I will defend those shows to the death too. I will finish Hostages. Never once bitched about or thought about leaving The Office. I dated a girl for Seasons 3 and 4 of Grey's Anatomy. I can't stand the show, but I still DVR and watch it. I have a problem.

That said, I got halfway through the eldercare abuse episode and just had to be done. This show is beyond terrible. The stupid jokes are set up by stupid and completely unfunny scenarios. The only line that makes me question leaving the show was "how do you not have this technology in San Francisco?"

this show isn't loveable and funny because it is absurd. It sucks because it is absurd. It pisses me off that a show like this is on the air this season and Community is back logged again and Happy Endings was canceled, even though all three are different networks.

I understand your pain.
There was a show on ABC that was great "Better Off Ted" it was on at the same time as the show Arrested Development,, both show were funny as hell,, both got cancelled,,Arrested development is back,,but not nearly as funny as it once was,,but Better Off Ted got cancelled after only 2 very funny seasons and show like Dads,, 2 Broke Girls,, ANY "Reality" show continues to get renewed,, and as much as I hate to admit it,, 2 Broke Girls is a show I also continue to watch even though it sucks MAJOR MONKEY BALLS,, neither of them are hot and the writing and acting is terrible,,yet like DADS I continue to watch,, and I don't know why,,, New Girls used to be kinda silly and fun but this current season has become unwatchable,,yet I still watch it as well.. "sigh"
And yes I am a straight man.. don't judge me by some of the crap I watch,,lol

Oh man Better Off Ted belonged at the end of my rant too. That show was pretty funny. That is an example of a show being able to be funny and lovable because of its absurdity. They did it well. I didn't watch Arrested Development until Netflix, but yea... gone too soon.

You watch it because it's funny, because that's the sole purpose of a comedy, and it's successful at that. It's such a strange show, but I see it coming together well.

Well enough to get PULLED in the middle of filming! BWHAHAHAHAHHAA!

Some of the reason people may not find it funny is because it's filmed in front of a live studio audience. Knowing that they're performing it live makes it more exciting and susceptible to mistakes, which also makes it more funny.

I can't say that it's the best show, but I find it to be very funny. I would say that I'm surprised the ratings aren't higher here, but then people don't seem to recognize good humor anymore, so I would be lying. Most of the funniest shows and movies today fail to receive good reviews, while those that do receive good reviews are usually contrived, overdone and boring.
