Didn't expect much, but...(Spoilers)

I was surprised to find I liked this movie. Somewhat predictable, up to a point, as in I predicted the ending of the dad surviving the risky brain surgery, but didn't predict the penultimate ending of the daughter suddenly dying of an undiagnosed heart defect. Before all that, I laughed out loud at the 16-year-old daughter's driving lessons - her only reason for going on the trip - and I kind of hated on the girl's mother, who abandoned her when she was a baby and then refused to see her when the dad and the girl show up at her house. She had her reasons, I suppose, but I still hated on her. Then to see her heartbroken look at the girl's funeral was touching.
