What does the prison governor put under the convict's mattress?

He enters the inmate's cell and says something like "so and so was busy" or something and puts a package under the inmate's mattress. What was that all about?

Just finished watching it ...great film.

Can on here as I was sure I recognised Tyrone (David Ajala) from The Dark Knight ...and saw your question.

It was an inhaler for Dennis. The warden keeps him sweet ...so that the wings stay nice and quiet.

Looked like a bag of drugs to me. The idea is that the prison is completely corrupt - to a pretty absurd level. I was gobsmacked that they portrayed the prison guards that negatively without spending any time contextualising it. It seemed completely implausible really.

How do you think the majority of drugs get into prisons?
