i wanted to ask which is better: the english dub or the original japanese with english subtitles? I have never watched an anime in japanese, but maybe the english dub is really bad or something? So thats why i asked, which is better to watch, especially for someone who never watches japanese shows... I have listened to the theme songs and i do like the japanese one more but thats just a small factor...

as far as movies go, it's a closer bet, but with series, always go with subs.

I usually end up watching both. I will watch with the subs when it first comes out cuz that is all that is available. When the dub comes out i usually end up watching my fave shows again in English. Usually i prefer the dubs because its nice to nokt have to read all the time and the story is usually tweeked a bit to make it a bit more relatable to American culture. As i am not completely familiar with the Japanese culture, sometimes words and actions by the characters dont make much sense to me. As long as it doesnt interfere with the story, i dont mind the dub being a bit westernized.
shareI always watch in Japanese with english sub. Everything is better that way. Their voices, and what they say. I think the only anime I cant watch in japanese is Dragon Ball Z. I grew up watching it in english so when i heard gokus japanese voice I just couldnt lol
