Kid stuff

I thought JS & MN would be quite different from what it is. There are some very fine production values and terrific actors, but the story is very Harry Potterish and I think the whole thing is aimed at children and young teens. (Very definitely not my demographic group.) I've watched enough to catch the tenor of it, and now it's going back to the library.

Friends,

ida96 (the original poster) is obviously a mundane. This show is aimed at fans
of good fantasy. Like those who own the special editions of Peter Jackson's Tolkien
movies. I've watched the first episode of JS&MN, and I will be finishing the series this
week.

A 'mundane'? Is that a technical term, similar to muggle? I enjoy a little fantasy, but not all fantasy is great in my book. I suspect my opinion has more to do with my demographic details, i.e., I'm in my early 60s.

I never meant to denigrate the show, just to indicate it's not my cup of tea. Give me Wolf Hall any day.

Besides them both being fantasies with magic I don't see any thing Harry Potterish about the story. Maybe the OP was hoping that this would be the BBC's equivalent to Game of Thrones in terms of graphic content.
