I'm sorry but....

I thought this was awful.
It had some nice effect and the action wasn't too bad, so if that is all you look for in films then you might like this.
But if you're like me and you like your films to have decent actors, a good story and to be well made....Skip this one.
I am pretty sure there are a lot of fake reviews on this board.
I have been an avid horror/cinema fan for a long ****ing time and there is no way this is a 6.3 movie.
3.6 would be much more suited IMO.
Watch at your own risk.

Noticed this as well! I was tricked into watching it when I saw the ratings but its just your typical 3/10 zombie film.

Fixed it for ya.

It's not that bad. Being Australian myself, I usually hate Oz cinema as it always depicts Aussies as being these people who live out in bush-lands and have super thick accents, drink too much beer and eat nothing unless it's off a BBQ and seem to dwell in or around ugly tin sheds out in the middle of nowhere. Which this film was 100% guilty of.

To say it was boring? No... I watched it from start to finish and was not bored or restless, so it's watchable. However it needed to find it's balance... it either should have been even more gorier or funnier, as they comedy was typical stupid slapstick crap, which gets annoying after the first few jokes, or it could be a boring as *beep* film but when it comes to the gore it makes it a classic... aka Peter Jackson's "Brain Dead/Dead Alive"

However, when I say it's not that bad, I'm not saying it's great either. I thought it was OK to see once. But it's a film with no replay value, so I would never wanna own a copy... I gave it a 4/10. But some people love this kind of *beep* and will rate it and worship it more... especially idiots who think every-time a movie is made in Australia by Australian's that they did not make a movie, they made some sort of historical masterpeice of cinematic brilliance... probably the same idiots who watch the TV Week Logi Awards and fall for the *beep* hype that it's as popular as the Golden Globes LOL... no one outside of having something to do with the TV/Movie industries give a *beep*... oh and bored house wives who think what they read in Womens Weekly is considered to be "news" probably. So I'd say a lot of those 10 star reviews that aren't faked by the film makers themselves are probably just people who follow what they are told is trend rather than actually share in any interest to follow a genre and check out multiple titles rather than be a "Oh, I've never seen a scary movie, lets go watch Paranormal Activity.... oh my, that movie was SO scary..." because you've never seen a scary movie prior to it.

P.S I'm drunk, lol. I think i'm just ranting rather than contributing to the point :D

Yeah nothing special... Many horror movies deserve a rating above 6 way more than this.

CG GORE IS THE WORST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO THE HORROR GENRE!

reply

I like a good serious horror as much as the next fan, but this was so much fun. Sounds like you went into it expecting it to take itself seriously. This is pure B-horror gold, and was never meant to be anything more than that.

reply

No, I expected it to be funny. But it wasn't (to me, anyway)
There was zero funny lines or scenes. The only thing humorous, I saw was the appalling acting.

reply

Fair enough, humor is subjective. As to the acting though, B-horror isn't usually known for it's great acting. Even all the Evil Dead movies had terrible acting lol (part of the reason I love them, for the camp).

reply

Well, I love Evil Dead in spite of the bad acting lol.
I like cheesy horror films, like Brain Dead, Evil Dead, even Evil Ed was a good laugh.
This one just didn't do anything for me.

reply

That's cool, I completely understand. I don't love all B-horror either, I just had a ton of fun with this one. The Evil Dead trilogy, despite cheesy acting and writing, has much higher scores on IMDB than this...almost purely because of cult status. I think a lot of people saw this as a movie made in similar fashion to Evil Dead and other cult classics, and that's why they love it.

No worries though, at least you can say you saw zombies fart from their mouths. 

Lol. I was wondering what that colored smoke was supposed to represent.
