Falls apart on second episode

Great concept. Pitting 100 athletes of all kinds against each others. Who is really stronger? A youtube body builder or soldier? Fireman or Alpinist?

Unfortunately the show gets cheesy real fast with too many replays, slow motions and contestants' annoying & repetitive comments. It goes from interesting to exhausting in the second episode.

It's also surprising to go right away to 1 on 1 wrestling matches with 100 contestants. They needed more group challenges like hanging by the arms to sort them out before going to that.

Great review. I agree with everything you said. The second episode for me was fine, but they dragged that on to the third episode and the show started getting boring.
This could have been a great show if it was faster pace, more. competitions like a real life squid games.

reply

Keep at it guys. I binged the whole lot today and I pushed through the boring episodes (2-4) and it gets far better, I also found that when I switched off the English dubbing, it was a huge improvement, as the repeating words were getting on my nerves. Really annoying. I agree with the editing and constant replays, but there are some great physical games ahead especially the boat one and you start to root for the underdogs. Really exciting. Just forward the boring bits. :-)

I watched the entire thing and I agree that if you havent seen the boat pushing challenge then you missed out! This show was fun and I was happy to see a season 2 arrive.

reply

Glad you enjoyed the show. That boat pushing challenge was really tough. Yes I see Season 2 has started to drop. I think I'll wait until all episodes are out so I can binge in one go. :)

reply

I was so eager I already watched them all and discovered not all the episodes were available yet xD

Its interesting to see all these different contestants from all walks of life competing.

reply

Yea, I wasn't going to fall for that trap like last year. I hate waiting. Just bring them all out in one go and let us decide if we want to watch it week by week.

That is what I love about the show. People from different countries and all walks of life taking part. Do they have the same games/challenges?

reply

They have a different beginning prequest challenge (no hanging), they still have the ball capturing game but with two newer arenas, and the next challenge after that is new altogether and interesting. I wont spoil it beyond that.

reply

I gave in and binged all episodes out for season 2 last night. :-) lol I hate waiting for the next lot. Loved the maze game, but didn't like the cheating. They wasted time trying to steal where they could have just carried on.

reply

I was stopped at the end of episode four, looks like you got to see more episodes than me so far! I think I did see the cheating already though. when that one team blocked the other in the maze from getting their bags into the bins at the final couple of minutes. Its a part of the rules that they can block them after the initial five minutes has passed but I still considered it "cheating" as well. It didnt help that the team blocking also had more massive individuals that made up the team compared to the ones being blocked. Seemed unsportsmanlike. Being bigger, it was easier for them to hold still and block them than have to keep carrying on.

reply

I see now what you mean! The team that had the wrestlers and judokas on it was the ones who wasted so much time trying to pin their opponents right there at the bag collecting center of the maze xD It just wasnt gonna work. Why pin your opponents when you arent even winning yet? Their logic of "If we pin this guy he cannot stack bags" was flawd as they didnt take into account that when you pin them, you yourself are not moving bags either!

reply

Yea, that is what I think too that it was unsportsmanlike. I dislike the team that has all the strong ones in (the ones that were going to be eliminated but got a second chance and made their own team). They are big headed and smug. The games feel more unfair this time around (made for the bigger stronger men), where as both males and females had a good chance last season as the games tested other abilities. I'm now waiting for the final episodes.
