The veil of the force could actually assist both causes

1) The absolute TRIPE disney trilogy is relegated to an alternate 'legends' timeline and declared non-canon in an attempt to reclaim the love from OT fans (and $$). The sequels are rebooted with a story that actually makes sense in the SWU and the franchise can grow instead of regress.

2) Woke Wars can still continue in this alternate universe all it wants. KK go your hardest. Those non-working gender studies students and other fans of this initiative can happily show their support with their wallets and fund any future saga's in this timeline. This is their opportunity to show how invested they are in the film industry outside of social commentary on the internet.
