SPACE VEGAS??? Apparently we're back to prequel style. Great

Just now watching for the first time, and I gotta say, story and characters of TLJ aside, the one thing I loved about TFA was that even with its own use of CGI, it still abandoned the over the top feel of the Anakin trilogy and felt genuinely like the Star Wars we knew and loved originally. Now we're back to the whole CGI "look what we can do!" parade. Too many unnecessary little goofy creatures, too much grandeur (to the point of distraction) in the locations, and so much Hollywood star power that it distracted us (well, at least me) from the movie itself.

Just like the Anakin trilogy.

In the prequels there was a lot of over the top cgi stuff, but at least those made some sense storywise. Here it seems they forced it into a "story" without reason, or only to add another lame fable, that rich people are bad, etc... and the most embarrassingly, they even fail with their message, cause the characters freed the animals but left the slave children...
Ruin Johnson was trying soo hard to be correct, but fails to deliver a good movie.

So in the end it's sad, but it's even worse than what the prequels did.
