This movie is brilliant. The quiet, the tedium, the isolation...

This film does an amazing job of depicting everyday life of the Civil War days. The lack of a soundtrack, the quiet, the lack of dialogue- it all brings home how utterly tedious and boring life must have been back then.

Brilliant is too far. It wasn’t that good.

I agree that the screenplay, acting, costumes etc were good. But the plot was weak at times. Why wouldn’t she kill the villain when she had the chance? She had him at gun point at the liquor store. She had him knocked out on the ground later. In fact, why didn’t the guy and woman at the liquor store kill the Union soldiers? You’re telling me the liquor store owner wouldn’t have guns?

Why did they have that scene where she kills the black guy? And about the ending - It’s a stretch to think that the Union soldiers, all over the place, wouldn’t have noticed 3 women suspiciously dressed like men walking away from the burning building.
