Elite soldiers?

The summary refers to elite soldiers. These are not elite. They are a normal army unit. Incidentally why call it the USDF when they are clearly US army?

Because all the countries united to make the United Space Defense Force to fight back the aliens together.

It wasn't only U.S. Army. They had a few guys from different regions. It seemed to be heavily inspired by Halo's UNSC, which is very similar to what the movie had, where an African soldier, a German soldier and an Aussie soldier were all embedded into the group with U.S. Army forces.
